This afternoon, we will have a chance to get acquainted with the city through a walking tour.
Welcome Dinner
This afternoon, we will enjoy a canal cruise to see the city from a different perspective. Amsterdam’s canals are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and are a great way to see the city’s historic buildings and bridges. You can book a canal cruise at one of the many companies located around the city.
We will end the day with a food tour, trying outtraditional Dutch snacks like stroopwafels and bitterballen.
Afterward, we will explore Edam, a charming smalltown famous for its cheese where you will have a chance to try and buy the city’s namesake. From there we will head to Volendam, a picturesque fishing village on the shore of the IJsselmeer lake and end the day in Marken, a small island with traditional wooden houses and a lighthouse where willl have dinner before heading back to the city.
We will end our day with dinner or lunch at the TV Tower, the tallest building in Berlin, and enjoy a panoramic view of the city
Later, we will explore the city’s landmarks, including the Marienplatz.
This afternoon we will have a traditional lunch at a lovely brewery nearby.
We will take a guided tour of the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site. The guided tour lasts around two hours and takes you through the different parts of the camp, including the prisoner barracks, the crematorium, and the gas chamber. We will also visit the museum and exhibition center, which provides detailed information about the history of the concentration camp, the Nazi regime, and the Holocaust. Lastly, we will have an opportunity to take a moment to reflect and pay your respects at the Memorial Site’s religious memorials and commemorative plaques.
This evening, we will return to Munich, and take some time to decompress and process emotions after the intense experience at the concentration camp. We can consider visiting a local beer garden or restaurant to enjoy some traditional Bavarian cuisine and toast to the memory of the victims of the Holocaust.
We will start our day with a visit to the Golden Roof (Goldenes Dachl), a famous landmark in the heart of Innsbruck’s historic Old Town. This beautiful roof is covered with thousands of gilded copper tiles and was built for Emperor Maximilian I in the 15th century.
Afterward, we will take a funicular to the top of Nordkette, a mountain range that overlooks Innsbruck. Here we can enjoy the stunning panoramic views of the city and the surrounding mountains. We will stop for lunch on our way back down the mountain at a restaurant with amazing views of the surrounding area.
Lastly, we will visit the nearby Hofburg Imperial Palace, which was once the residence of the Habsburgs in Innsbruck. The palace now houses several museums and galleries, including the Museum of Tyrolean Folk Art and the Imperial Apartments before heading back to Munich.
